The document presented, exposes content related to the command of a foreign language and the impact it has on agroecological tourism activities. The research was qualitative-quantitative, non-experimental with a transectional design and its purpose was to determine the appreciation of 150 individuals graduated as Higher University Technician in Tourism. All the participants in the sample are graduates of Venezuelan higher education institutions. As an instrument to collect the information, a test containing propositions presented on a 5-point Likert scale was applied. The data were processed with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results obtained show that tourism professionals consider the command of a foreign language essential. They also point out that, in their opinion, the Tourism Professionals Association is not fully prepared to carry out their functions in a foreign language, and they also assure that preparation to develop agroecological tourism activities in Spanish as well as in English and Portuguese is essential. All the participants stated that professionals who master more than one language have a greater chance of success in their profession than those who are monolingual.
